Mi Rack history
I was tired of the wiring mess we always had at home when we were charging our iPhones and iPads, so I decided to make a modular charging rack.
I had the following goals. It should :
I think that I have achieved all of the goals and I have used my rack for more than a year without any problems at all. Now I always know where my items are as I place them in the rack as soon as I come home.
After a lot of work and testing, I finally I ended up with my "Mi Rack" solution.
In the beginning I was thinking of starting a small “hobby” company from which I could sell the racks. I named and protected the rack “Mi Rack” and sampled a group of skilled people to help me. We spent many hours planning the future but unfortunately we were not able to make the dreams come through as we all were busy with our normal jobs.
I decided to open a shop on Shapeways which seems to be a very interesting way to get to the market even though the items seems to be quite expensive.

For the time being I have made inserts for iPad2, iPad2 Air, iPad Mini, iPhone 4, iPhone 5 and iPhone 6, and I will continue to make inserts for new Apple products.

I had the following goals. It should :
- fit iPhones and iPads of today and forthcoming products
- be wallmounted
- be easy to change phone without the need of drilling new holes in the wall
- be easy to handle for children
- be possible to charge phones without taking the protection covers off
- have as small dimensions as possible
- be nice looking
- be possible to stack
- be possible to use the items while charging them
